My pack – the people behind Lucky Jim
Passion, love for animals, and a keen sense of smell
Feed development with our in-house veterinarians
Hey, I'm Lucky Jim—the dog with a nose for the best food!
Welcome to my pack —let me introduce you to the people behind my recipes who make sure your dog is happy every day.
Pets Nature's corporate philosophy is: "We understand animals."
My people—that is, the employees and managing directors —have always had a deep connection to animals.
They love dogs (of course!), but also cats, and are committed to our well-being with heart and idealism.
Animal welfare is a reality we live by:
Pets Nature regularly donates food and money to animal shelters, and many employees even volunteer their time.
This passion is also evident in every Lucky Jimbowl.
Our food—carefully thought out and developed with in-house veterinarians
My recipes are developed in collaboration with our in-house veterinarians and nutrition experts.
They ensure that every variety of Lucky Jim offers honest ingredients, clear labeling, and a well-thought-out feeding concept.
Only carefully selected production facilities are permitted to manufacture my food.
And, of course, quality and recipe compliance are continuously monitored—paw on it!

My pack—the people behind Pets Nature
Before I, Lucky Jim, was allowed to fill the bowls here, someone already had a pretty clear vision: Martin Schupp founded Pets Nature GmbH in 1999 with the aim of offering dogs really good, species-appropriate food. No frills—just quality you can taste.
In 2002, he was joined by Christian Numsen. Since then, the two have been the heart and soul of Pets Nature, putting their passion, experience, and idealism into building what is now my home.
More heads for the pack
Because a strong pack runs better together, there has been a real reinforcement at the top since January 1, 2026: Pets Nature is now managed by a four-person executive team.
My pack includes:
- Martin Schupp: Founder and visionary from the very beginning
- Christian Numsen: Co-owner and managing director
- Dennis Vidal: Managing Director and responsible for marketing, sales, product development, and HR
- David Bäuerle: Managing Director and responsible for logistics, purchasing, customer service, IT, and HR
Together, they ensure that everything runs smoothly at Pets Nature and that only food that makes dogs truly happy ends up in my bowl. Lucky Jim not only stands for really good food, but also for a team with heart, mind, and a lot of dedication. My pack. For dogs like me.
